ONE OF THE YEAR’S MOST EXPENSIVE BEERS, FULLER’S VINTAGE ALE AVAILABLE FOR THE HOLIDAYS
The Ultimate Specialty Brew Is The Closest Thing to Cask Ale; A Perfect Holiday Gift For Beer Connoisseurs.
At $100 a case or $9.99 a bottle, Fuller’s brewery, the oldest in London, is bringing one of the year’s most expensive ales, 2004 Fuller’s Vintage Ale, to the United States through Distinguished Brands International just in time for the holidays.
Bottle conditioning, where a little yeast is allowed to continue to ferment within the bottle, produces exceptionally mellow beers with complex, subtle flavors, and is the closest thing to cask ale. Every bottle of Fuller’s Vintage Ale matures with age, reaching its peak three years after bottling.
Only one batch of Fuller’s Vintage Ale is brewed each year, using traditional methods from the pick of that year’s award-winning malted barley and hops. Each year’s beer is finessed for months, resulting in deep, golden beers of huge character.
“As Vintage Ale ages and matures, just like a fine wine, it becomes even more extraordinary,” said Stamford Galsworthy, USA Export Manager for Fuller’s brewery. “Beer connoisseurs will savor the 2004 Vintage Ale for a truly unique experience. It’s really an ideal holiday gift.”
Designed for the discerning ale drinker, this edition features elegant 16.9-oz bottles. It was brewed from Maris Otter malted barley and hopped with Golding hops. I t has a bitterness from the Golding’s hop which also gives the beer a pleasant spicy hop note. “After 14 weeks in the tank to mature, Vintage Ale develops a concentrated palate of biscuity malt notes,” said Galsworthy, “and it is very fruity with a distinct cherry note.”
Beginning in November, Fuller’s Vintage Ale, can be found in fine retail stores throughout the country on a limited basis. Suggested retail price is $100 a case and $9.99 a bottle.
